Leavenworth offers something for everyone in every season. In the summer the focus is on water; rafting, canoeing, kayaking and tubing. We would be remiss, though, if we left out hiking, biking, climbing, horseback riding, walking and strolling. In short, there is a lot to do and you won’t be bored.
In the winter it’s all about snow. Two world-class downhill Alpine Ski slopes are within a 20 minute drive from the Obertal. Ski Hill run, in Leavenworth offers a great beginners ski slope so you may learn the ropes. Some of the most spectacular cross country skiing scenery is found right here in Leavenworth. Snowmobiling is simply spectacular and the horse drawn sleighs rides are one of a kind.
Last, but not least, are the incredible Christmas Lights that adorn all businesses in Leavenworth from the week after Thanksgiving’s Day through mid-February. It’s a sight not to be missed and the spectacular display of Christmas lights has rightfully earned Leavenworth the nickname “Christmas town of America.” Come see for yourself!

White Water Rafting
We work very closely with Osprey Rafting Company. They provide an excellent trip down the Wenatchee River and they offer a variety of trips to accommodate different experience levels.
The family White Water Class II rafting trip is a great trip for your kids. This is a really fun event for the whole family and a wonderful way to introduce your kids to the wonderful world of rafting.
Tubing
Tubing: Through Leavenworth Outdoor Center. Make it a family affair and tube down the Wenatchee River at your own leisurely pace. You’ll love it!
If canoeing or kayaking is more your thing, come check out the Wenatchee and Icicle Rivers. Great fun, we promise!
Schnee – Snow
Downhill Skiing
Being only 20-25 miles from both Mission Ridge and Stevens, Leavenworth is the ideal stop for a day of fun winter sports and an evening of eating, drinking and being merry. The Ski Hill in Leavenworth itself is about a mile from the hotel and provides great downhill tubing and skiing for beginners.
Cross Country Skiing
Leavenworth has over 40 miles of gorgeously groomed trails all over the city. While Skiing along the Wenatchee River, nature will treat you to some of the most impressive sights.
Horse drawn Sleigh Rides
Take a leisurely ride through the snow covered meadows and hills in a horse drawn sled. It’s a very romantic experience, or just a fun diversion from all the activities of the day.
Snowmobile Tours
Many miles of trails allow you to either ride your own, or rent one and go on a guided tour. Simply awesome!

Wanderung – Hiking
Leavenworth is surrounded by one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the US, the Cascades. The soaring jagged peaks provide a stunning backdrop while you hike to your heart’s content. Several well known trails begin around Leavenworth and take you into the back country. The wildlife, birds and natural beauty is just breathtaking.

Horseback Riding
Red Tail Canyon. Enjoy a leisurely ride through the mountains and take in the gorgeous scenery surrounding you. Available rides vary in length from 1.5 to 5 hours. Let us know which ride you prefer and let us handle the work for you.

Discover one of the world’s most amazing creatures at our family-run farm nestled in the heart of the Bavarian Village of Leavenworth.

Leavenworth’s wine industry has really taking off. There are now 32 wineries in or near Leavenworth with tasting rooms downtown. There are four Cider Rooms as well.

Leavenworth is surrounded by a bounty of agricultural businesses, all of whom cater to the tourists who visit this magnificent area. The Leavenworth climate is ideal for growing many fruits. Apples come to mind immediately, but it would be an injustice to leave it at that. Cherries, peaches, pears, blueberries, blackberries, and on and on the list goes.
Leavenworth is home to many award winning wineries and they alone are worth the trip. The warm summers and cool spring make this an ideal wine growing region.

Leavenworth Parken – Leavenworth Parks
Front Street Park
Front Street Park is in the heart of downtown’s Front Street. The park is adorned with a wonderful gazebo and our very own Maibaum (maypole.) It’s a fun and comfortable place to sit and “people watch” the crowds as they shop, dine and generally stroll through town. The park provides an excellent spot to watch festivals and parades as they unfold through town. You stay nice and cool under our shade trees and can relax on the green lawn. In the winter it’s a whole different ballgame. Get your sled out with your kids and make the runs down the hill. All literally steps from all the activities in Leavenworth.
Waterfront Park
Need a respite from the hustle and bustle, but don’t want to go too far? Just two blocks from downtown Leavenworth, Waterfront Park provides just that relief. It’s situated along the banks of the Wenatchee River and it’s a birdwatcher’s paradise. The park offers a great opportunity for a wonderful stroll along the river while taking in the incredible scenery. In the summer you may want to cool down in the river. The water is delightfully refreshing. Take your bike for a leisurely ride along water’s edge. Simply wonderful!
